Which Odyssey Battery?

Hi folks, I'm getting a few electrical gremlins and thinking the battery needs changing (original from 2008). I've had great success with an odyssey in my BMW R80 (motorcycle) which only gets out twice a month. Does anyone know which model fits the freel2?

The US site lists an LR2 as taking a PC1220, same for us?

Same question! The cold weather meant my freel wouldn't start at all yesterday. Gave it a jump and it's ok again but it's inly a matter of time before this battery kicks the bucket. Anyone bother fitting an odyssey? Or do you just go to halfords?

I'd go for an Exide Premium: http://www.tayna.co.uk/067TE-Exide-Car-Bat...P7499.html Thumbs Up

Unless you already have one, I believe you'd need to edit the CCF if you fit an AGM battery. Wink Freelander 2 2007 TD4 Manual HSE Tambora Flame

The cold weather has shown up our original 2007 battery, so it has just been replaced with one of these
http://www.tayna.co.uk/Type-110-Varta-Silv...7709.html.
Which has better specs than the original which was 80ah and 700cca.
Looking at the specs of the odyssey battery you refer to, it doesn't seem to have high enough basic ratings when compared to an original fit lr battery, but not sure if that matters with the different construction of them.
Personally I would, and did, go for a standard battery as I couldn't justify the huge extra cost of an odyssey battery, maybe if it was an extreme off roader then an agm battery would be preferred.

I replaced my battery (original battery) this week on my 07MY with one of those yuasa batteries from Halfords,I would suggest shopping around though as My brother got mine for £75.

Several threads on here regarding batteries - do a search. Only the stop-start models have AGM batteries. The extra expense is not justified for other models and as stated above, you would need to remap the charging system. If yours is a 2008 model I assume you have a normal battery. The Exide has been used by many on here including myself - not sure what is available in your neck of the woods though. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.
