bumpers might be possible,
tyres will be removed for environmental reasons
to remove the tyres obviously the wheels will be off so they might be a possibility.

I can understand why they won't be repaired and sold on .....
..... but to crush them Shocked
What a waste!

Why can't they dismantle them and put the various components back on line or sell as parts (once thoroughly QC checked)?

It would cost too much, insurance will pay out and the rest is recycled, today's £100k FFRR is tomorrow's Coke can

Land rover will demand they are destroyed as they have an arrangement with their insurance and won't want any comeback from someone selling them on,
and in the scheme of things for the insurance underwriters this will be like you or me losing a few coppers down the back of the sofa.

Same as all the test vehicles littering Gaydon (there are LOTS!). Apparently they all get destroyed, according to LRE guide. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

Now having read the article, it says the Mazdas on an earlier ship were all destroyed because of the time spent at an acute angle. That shouldn't worry a Range Rover though, surely. I'd be happy to buy one at a suitably knocked down price! Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
