Scotland 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Bali Blue

I am running General Grabber All Terrains in a 245 / 70 X 17 size and as per the pic of this tyre fitted to my standard suspension setup I reckon this is about as large a tyre as you can go without fouling on the struts.

The pic is on about the 12th post on the thread below ;

Hi i have a Freelander 2 with 235/65 r17 standard tyre size.
I wondered if anyone knows what the maximum tyre hieght and width I could fit without having to modify and also without rubbing.
Im looking at fitting some AT tyres and this would give me more options.
Thanks

I'm running Cooper Zeon LTZs in 285/50/20 without rubbing, but that's on Evoque wheels (which have an et45 offset.)
Thumbs Up

England 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Manual Stornoway Grey

Hi.
Thanks for the info guys.
Ive now been able to find 245/70 r17 BFG All terrains in the tyre size that you have Uncleron.
Do you think they will fit ok with the bfg tread been deeper than the general grabber AT?
Also uncleron what do you think to your new general grabber AT's as I have no experience with them, ive only ever had BFG's.
Many thanks for all the info guys!

The General Grabber AT's I bought also come with a deep tread pattern when new and there is still approx 1cm clearance with the struts with the wheels fitted to the car so I strongly suspect the BFG AT's would fit ok. 4X4 Tyre places like AJS may be able to confirm?

I am pleased with the General Grabber AT's on & off road but I'm sure the BFG AT's cost quite a bit more and most of the Defenders & Discos on the off road runs I go on are running the BFG AT's so I can't help thinking that you might be disappointed with the General Grabber AT's if you are more used to the BFG AT's.

Been thinking some more on this and maybe the BFG AT's are a more similar size to the General Grabber At's - I think it's the BFG Mud terrains that more of the Defenders & Discos use.......
