Opinions please

Think I've figured retro fit electric seats out but Hawkeye still not arrived to reprogram BCU so can't move seats. Could I pick up a 12 V supply from a trickle battery charger to move seat to a usable position until Hawkeye arrives without doing any damage? Cheers 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

Look under the seat, locate the motors you wish to use, Hotwire with your trickle charger, a battery or one those 240v to 12v converters we use for camping fridges when they are in the house. No damage as far as I can see. I have done it twice.

Couple of croc clips and a metre of twin core will see you fixed short term until someone else wants to drive it Laughing SD4 HSE Lux

So found the multi plug feeding motors from seat module
From wiring diagram cable designation as follows

Slide Forward - green/white
Slide Back - green/blue
Recline - grey/white
Incline - grey/red
Height Up - grey/violet
Height Down - grey/yellow

Thinking if I connect Ground to seat base then I can move by touching individual connectors on multi plug, any thoughts? I'm just wary of airbag, bus, modules etc. I'm fine with electrics but not electronics! Shocked

Hope you're logging all this down Jim, as I may have to call on your new experience if I decide to retro fit electric seats. Wink

No problem Ron, hopefully Hawkeye here Monday or Tuesday to fire them up, spoke to an auto spark who said to call down when they're in and he'll show me how to get the heated part working. Need to get a a/c console with heated seat buttons first. 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

Have you not got heating on your current seats?

That's odd, I appear to have the same MY & model spec as yours and I've got heated seats. Confused

2011 GS heated seats were an option or part of Winter Pack, not a standard item Thumbs Up

Off Topic Thanks Paul, what else was on the Winter pack, as also got heated front screen.
Btw got LR Bluetooth too which I thought was odd on a GS.
