Hotel upgrade?

I'm off to New York just for 4 nights in November, so no elaborate tours this year! I've been before so happy enough with 4 nights. We've managed to secure the Sheraton hotel with a room overlooking Times Square, airport transfers and return flights with BA from Birmingham for just under £1k each.

An upgrade has been offered to us for a further £200 each, to stay at the Waldorf Astoria! I am leaning towards not bothering but I thought I would see what you thought.

It turned out that there was a deadline on this offer for lunch today so after careful consideration, we decided not to bother and save the money for spending instead. It's not as if the Sheraton is a poor hotel Laughing

Turns out that American Airlines are running our flight as part of the One-World Alliance with BA. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

never done NY, but i hope you enjoy it

personally i don't see the point in paying out £2k on a four day break, just to look round a city

it not as if your going to be relaxed when you return, all that walking round, sightseeing, looking up to see the sky been blocked out by tall buildings, yellow taxi's everywhere honking their horns. Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

There was never any hesitation on paying up to go back there. There is a vibe there that you can't really describe and although Vegas is more bonkers, its not as magical as NYC.

"Concrete jungle where dreams are made up" as the song goes. Amazing place Thumbs Up

P.S, I've got a further 5 days off work to chill out when we get back. NYC ain't for relaxing. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby
