Unfortunately, as I found out you cant easily retro-fit front seat armrests. The reason is that the spindle and bracket are not there on the seat back frame. On the HSE seat its a welded plate onto the seat back and its this that holds the spindle for the armrest. I'm hoping that you see what I mean by the photo and the arrow pointing to the welded plate. You can just see the 4 welds in the photo.

Hi Pete, how easy/difficult is it to remove the back of the seat? My lumbar support has a leak as it goes down and I would like to fix it, cheers. Rich. |

There are a few gotchas but if you have a look at Spagleys (Ian) post he has saved me the trouble of all the pictures etc on seat back removal. To dismantle the seat I found was easier out of the car - the important thing to remember is to plan ahead with disconnecting the battery before fiddling with the mass of cables underneath the seat - one of these cables is to the side airbag and the seatbelt tensioner. Once the battery is disconnected allow a period of time for any latent charge from the battery to dissipate. |

In my picture, you can see the lumber bag at the front. The pipe and pump are tucked away to the side of the inner frame. You will have to remove the foam to get to it. To release the cover, there are several clips which are a bit fiddly to access and remove.
