First timer

Hi - I'm about to buy my first FL2 as a second car and need some advice. Questions, questions...!

Manual or Auto? And why?
Do they all come with tow hooks or just fittings?
How much to the gallon do they do?
How good are they REALLY off road?
How important is FSH?
Does it matter if they are 100k+ miles?

Any advice - of any sort - from anyone with experience of older cars would be a great help.

Really looking forward to getting one - just need some help!!!!

Thanks in advance!

Very Happy

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 SE Auto Loire Blue

Welcome mate
Manual or auto - your choice but as one of your questions is mpg I'd go manual
Mpg - my 2007 SE (which is for sale) averaged 32mpg. Just picked up 2011 GS so far 37mpg
How good off road - It's a Land Rover enough said!
Like any car regular servicing is critical, saying that I used an Indy and didn't get book stamped lol
My SE has 149k still going strong, had 4 wheel bearings, clutch ( DMFW and Slave) apart from that usual filters etc. 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)
Gone - 2011 GS Baltic Blue, Retrofit Electric Leather, Side Steps, 19"SC's, Roof Rails, TT Sat Nav Mod, Retrofit Premium Audio, Retro fit 2013 Xenons with DRL & Sig Strip (Clutch at 47k)
Gone - 2007 GS Narvik Black, Privacy Glass, 19" SC's, Side Steps,Roof Rails, Roof Spoiler, Lamp Guards, Retrofit Electric Leather (Clutch at 115k)
Gone - 2007 SE Santorini Black (Clutch at 120k)
BT IID (best money ever spent on a car)

England 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Aintree Green

Having gone from a manual to an auto and the manual around my town (hilly) would be roughly 30 to 33mpg. On a motorway run 40ish as for the auto I don't care, far better drive. MY13 HSE LUX Aintree Green
MY57 SE Stornoway Grey. Gone
Nissan X Trail
Discovery V8 LPG
Series II Land Rover
