My first FL2 had full LR history and was bought as an approved used from my local LR dealer. It went back to them several times over the course of the year for various faults and when it was just out of warranty all 4 corners needed new tyres, complete new brakes and the clutch was on its last legs. My next FL2 (current) was bought from a Ford franchise, with a full LR/indy mixed history, but was in a very good condition and has so far proven to be a good purchase after 10k in 6 months. Personally I wouldnt necessarily go to LR to buy an approved used again, but I would make sure the next LR I buy would be from a large franchise (any manufacturer) or known/recommended indy, and would ensure the service history was there and the condition was good. |

There is an argument that says don't buy any used car that is just out of warranty except from a main dealer network as the dealers will have pushed any dodgy cars through the auctions. I bought a 10 reg FL2 from a small garage and had new clutch, drive shaft, throttle body and finally gearbox problems before I got rid of it. Having said that my current FL2 (LR approved) has had a number of problems but all sorted under warranty. |
