"Two finishes" Hi and Low Line could just refer to black gloss grille and chrome trim?

Is it chrome though? Looks as though it's the standard silver around the edge (I.e masked off). If it is chrome, I'd love a picture and a part number of possible

Just to let you know that the chrome strip on mine was just the cheap 5mm stuff on ebay that you buy on a roll for a few £s.
Does the job for me  FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

The "chrome "on my grill is silver paint but with a gloss black surround.

Does anyone know is it possible to remove the OEM "chrome" outer trim from the grille (2013MY) to facilitate painting?

If your grill is like this and your talking about the silver signature strip (your grill looks slightly different from your pics, it's a bit hard to see) then yes





Bumper has to come off and the black outer elements and silver signature strip have to be unpicked as they are plastic welded to the main grill. Unfortunately the silver element has lugs which go through the black element and are plastic welded together. You'll then be able to paint this element independently.
Not a hard job just time and fiddly. I left this to the body shop who had experience with doing this.
Spars were painted only Santorini Black to match surround whilst signature strip is as is.
Looks great if done properly

Edit: re: signature strip - I'm thinking of leaving it as is colour wise - saw a grille without one the other day and just thought it would be so much easier to paint (matt black) if it were removed. DOH! it seems not

It's possible that your signature strip is a different finish to mine as there was two finishes. Mine is called Bright Atlas according to Topix for my vehicle. If yours is just "Brunel" then possibly I'd get it painted silver or if your really brave a standout colour as this really sets off the black grill



As you can see from this pic if the signature strip was black I think it would be too much.
Another forum member has retrofitted the same surround and signature strip as mine into the std grill so that's another option if you can source the surround. All you will need to do is supply these to the body shop when they spray your spars and can do the swap at the same time! MY15

I'd say your grill and surround are Brunel. The signature strip looks silver so I'd say it be fine as is. Easiest way to get it looking like mine is to just spray the surround(without signature strip) and grill spars Santorini Black which is what the OE surround is.

Finally got round to doing the grille - dropped the bumper off, cleaned the grille, light rub with wire wool, mask it off. spray and hey presto another landmark in my project to create a monochrome car Just got to find the black badge I bought ages ago and put away safely
