Sorry for my off-topic, but why on earth do you need a new propshaft? What happened? |

Propshaft is fine - the support bearing has partially collapsed - still functioning, but will need replacing "soon".

Ta. Any clue on the lead-time for the genuine LR part? Also - and I realise I'm probably asking the wrong person, but do you have any thoughts on the Hardy Spicer OEM unit - in terms of quality? |

Hmmm - for a £90 saving (once you include the VAT) then it seems like a good deal. Not heard of them myself, but if you're vouching for them then that's good enough or me.

I can remember the Hardy Spicer name from my apprenticeship in the late 70's. Been around for years. Weren't all universal joints (UJ's) known as Hardy Spicer joints? Possibly because they were so well known for making them so the Hardy Spicer name became associated with UJ's just like the name Hoover did with vacuum cleaners. |
