REAR WIPER ...

Have been meaning to post this for ages ...

The back of the car is a bit squared off like a van, which means it gets covered in Censored on a wet road.

The best you can get from the rear wiper is an intermittent wipe, that is just not good enough.

Driving in Censored wet condition there needs to be a 'constant' setting for the rear wiper.

Anyone agree with my comment ...

I wonder if a constant setting would make the wiper drag across a dry screen, as the rear screen being so vertical doesn't seem to attract a continuous amount of actual rain.

The intermittent is ok for me and I often pull it on manually, rather than having it "do it itself" if it gets to wet.

However, the option would have been nice and I am sure would not have been too difficult to add. FL2 TD4 XS Santorini

And/or use some rainX on the glass.

If you think the rear needs a more constant wipe, give it a quick squirt with the washer and you get at least 4 "constant" sweeps of the rear wiper. That is usually enough to enable the intermittent to keep up with the new spray.

Just pulling the RH stalk back enables the washer to give you the multiple wipes, you don't even need to keep it on long enough to run washer fluid down the window.

Thanks, but believe me with 40k miles under my belt I've tried everything ...

Bottom line it that the back of our beloved cars is just like a truck. It is a magnate for 'crap' in wet weather, the only way to keep the rear window clear in the worst conditions is a 'constant' option on the rear wiper. Given that lots of estate cars recognize this I'm disappointed that my LR does not have this option.
