Hope this helps Nut. Shows where the bulk of the tape is on a LR OE spoiler and where you need to heat / wire. Nothing in the fitting instructions about removing it unfortunately

30 minutes but that was snapping dental floss, I then used a nylon line but be very careful as it's easy to start cutting into the spoiler, steady away and it will come off. |

Possibly part of the moulding process, it may be where the plastic is injected into a mould...just a guess? |

I saved the image from Aero's gallery, expanded it and it does look like a cylindrical protrusion

packing tape around the spoiler and around the barn door handles. Drive forward very slowly and take up the tension, apply handbrake and then go around the back and heat the gap with a hair dryer.

maybe not so silly but use a hand winch/ratchet strap between spoiler and barn door to apply firm but steady pressure At work

Just taken a closer photo. It is a plastic bung of some sort, not threaded and it doesn't protrude. I'm guessing its something used in the moulding process but I'm no expert. No other fittings with the kit except the usual two brackets and 4 torx bolts. Must get it painted and fitted |
