I upgraded from 17" wheels with 8000 miles or thereabouts on the tyres to 18" wheels with brand new tyres... the price to change after selling the old wheels worked out at about £250.

8000 miles of rubber back and bigger/tastier wheels. Well worth it.

I'll look to do the same when these tyres have worn down. 2016 BMW X3 30d SE in red

Like others, I bought brand new 18" evoques with new Pirelli's off Ebay and sold my 17” wheels and tyres on here, total payout ended up being £300 and got an upgrade plus new rubber for that.

+1 for getting a set of brand new take offs with new tyres off fleabay like these Ewok 18's on my last FL2, then sticking some winters on your old alloys - especially if you intend to keep your car a while. I think I got these for about £580. Be patient, they do come up. I Still run two sets on current FL2.

I still miss Rimini Big Cry

2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Lago Grey

Thanks for the help and advice guys!

The wheels in Yorkshire's pic are the exact ones I'm looking at - pleasing to see they look good!

I don't really have the space to store, or the inclination to own, a set of winter tyres (just never really felt the need...), so I think the current plan will be to buy some Evoque take offs at the right price, then swap em once my current tyres are at the legal limit(ish). Then flog my current wheels. Is the general consensus that they'll fetch about £200 then, once cleaned up?

Still works out as cheap as a new set of tyres, and the Scorpions get decent reviews!

And for reference here is my recent upgrade, new take offs bought on eBay and great value. I believe Khan customs has something to do with these being on the market. It was nice to see photos of them on a car before I bought so we could get this thread full of different colour cars as and when people change Thumbs Up

So after eBay sale the end result was £325, less than the tyres alone would be.

Has anyone traded in a car with Ewok wheels? Does it affect the price? After all they are non-standard, even if they are LR wheels. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Rimini Red

These are my Evoque wheels bought from Overfinch. They were brand new (delivery mileage of car) and paid the sum of £600. Given I got around £250 for the old wheels that had tyres with virtualy no tread I didn't think it was a bad deal.

They look good clean, but they don't seem to wear the muck very well and look distinctly brown in anything other than decent sunlight.

Still the best choice though Thumbs Up
