I called at dealership to view new DS, when a sales person asked if I was considering a new DS I said in about 18 months when current FL is 3 years old and by that time new Ingenium engine will be available.
No No, the new engines are for Jaguar only the DS will not be getting them!!! Possibly in 2 wheel drive only at a later date but 4x4 will stay with current engine???

Auto Express this week give details of Jaguar with 2.0L 163 bhp Ingenium engine capable of 75 mpg Manual and 69 mpg Auto in new Jaguar.
Would not expect this on 4x4 DS but should be a big improvement on current FL. All FL2's (3) Gone

There's a few of them type of sales guys around, just ordered a new car , I was told by one dealer, our local dealer too that the car has free metallic paint, xenons , and full leather, guess what he was wrong on all three, and then came up with the figures I was after but at literally the last minute realised they were quoting me for a manual not auto . Hence I bought the car from another dealer 30 miles away who really knew the product ,
Ps I'm not joining the lr clan again, sorry and the little audi is going in mid march

Agreed. I knew the brochure and options in much more detail than one dealer I visited.

My dealer has yet to receive the salesmans training from LR, all they have had is the one day when he went down to drive the car, but he made the effort to find things out from other sources.

Not to get too far off thread but its 10 times worse when technicians don't know the repair procedures.
i.e. my first SD 11MY (3 months old) required a new fuel gauge sensor they removed rear diff, drive shafts and prop shaft all in 1 piece ,damaging oxygen sensor ,heat shields and shaft to diff flanges.

Reason: the propshaft does not separate from diff!!! what a load of ----- All FL2's (3) Gone

Its amazing the lack of knowledge / interest some sales staff have in their product. I suppose its great when they get Mr and Mrs Average through the door who are just looking to by their next "nice" car.
When I buy a car I have it researched to death and know exactly what model / spec / options Im after and am not swayed by the nice suits and free coffee
