How much to reprogram glow unit?

Hi all

Does anyone know how much it would cost for lr to update / reprogram the glow plug module?

Have read a few times that people have had this done to make the plugs come on at a higher general temp, but i dont remember seeing a price listed

Guessing it dosnt take an hour todo?

You can't...
There is no such thing as reprogramming the glow plug module for higher temperatures.

Alex wont this be done through the ecu though? I am sure I read that people have had problems with the cold cranking and then LR have updated ( reprogramed the ecu - glow module ) to start cold cranking at a higher temp ( 5oc / 4oc / 3oc / 2oc / 1oc and so on ) Question

For the first time this morning mine come on but at -2oc and it stayed on for 1 / 2 seconds before starting and it started much better, yet last night it was 0oc and it started worse with no cold cranking ( no glow before start up )

My thinking would be that I would want it to start cold cranking ( glow ) at anything under 5 or 4oc and not have to wait till -2oc for it to start coming on. I live on the south coast at sea level and it very rarely gets to -oc but does normaly get to 5/4/3/2/1oc and in this temp range it starts worse than -2oc, would just be nice to tell it to start cold cranking at a higher temp so it starts better ( happy to wait for the cold crank to do its job on each start up as I don't get in and drive off right away anyways )

This is a 2007 2.2 auto xs and im betting its on 2007 software and never had a LR update Freelander 57 plate XS Blue Auto

I know that was posted before about the temps and their relation with the glow period.
Search a little on the forum and you'll find.
Updates were about BCM and IPC and their ability to show the "spiral" light as a telltale for glow.
The engine ECU is driving the glow plugs through a relay and there was no software update to address this issue.
