Why would you want headlights on in fog ? Side lights and fog lights only. Do it now ! Your a long time dead !! |

My headlights were in auto ,it was dark when I left,so they are always on auto ,I could see fog patches ahead ,so put my Fog Lights on ,then

...because it's the law. And I can honestly say that in all my years of driving cars fitted with front foglights, I have only ever used the front ones on two or three occasions. The fog is rarely so thick that visibility is reduced to less than 100m (at least where I live) |

so the auto lights turned off the fog lights too? No that's not very safe at all |

As previously posted, the Sensor cannot detect Fog, if it is Foggy switch it to manual. |

That's why the switch has a manual position for the driver to use their brain and judgement!

Does this mean though, if you feel the conditions are that bad that you turn your Fog Lights on, this then generates an invisible protection bubble around you then become immune to the bad weather and can drive at 70+, this seems to be an optional extra fitted on BMW's Audi's etc. . |
