Hi Gents,

Just about to pick up my Si4 in white. Keen to get the grill painted black along with the wheels.

Question is, will I need need to remove the entire bumper? Or does the grill detach? Not keen on a full removal so I was wondering if it as simple as placing some sort of sheet behind the grill and the "radiator" or order to prevent over spray.

Keen for your thoughts. I searched... found nothing along these lines.

Bumper needs to come off. It will be a real bodge if you mask it off.

Does anyone know what colour the inner grille is painted in the Dynamic models? It's not clear I its a satin black or gloss black

The whole grille is gloss black.

Got my 3 spars (only) done at my local LR dealership and bumper didn't come off for that, and they did an excellent job.
However if it were the full grill then yes they would've taken the bumper off to do it.

Didn't want the grill surround doing, left it in grey to blend in with the FL2s grey bodywork.
Oh, and also added the MY14 style chrome surround.

I fitted this grill to mine a 2007 car with a 2012 bumper,my slats aren't gloss though.

Think I'm going to get it glossed. Although, satin does look quite 'metaly'.

The spars (or slats) are the long honeycomb bits on the centre grill.

Re the different black finishes, I had mine done in gloss because I've got the gloss black Evoque alloys, gloss black side vents as well as gloss black lettering - so made sense to keep the grill the same.
Something to bear in mind should you wish to go down the 'black pack' route.

Satin is real nice though

For those wishing to go down the OEM route my dynamic came with

• Grille in Gloss Black with Gloss Black grille surround
• Side fender vents in Gloss Black
• Gloss Black door handles
