ABS or DSC cutting in at low speed

I went out this morning, Saturday run to the butchers. Lots of icy roads so I flicked the car into GGS and left it there.
I noticed that going around low speed corners, 10mph approx, if the car had quite a bit of lock on I would hear, and feel, something from the wheels, similiar to the ABS sound and feel when that cuts in, wasn't braking at the time so I am guessing something to do with the DSC system. It would only happen when in GGS mode, it is fine in normal mode.

Has anyone else experienced this? I am wondering if the extra grip from the winter tyres is playing a part.
The car behaves superbly on the ice and snow, loads of grip and more importantly stopping is very easy.

If anyone else with winter tyres could try the car in GGS to see if they too experience the 'chattering' it would rule out it being an issue peculiar to my car.

GGS locks the centre coupling at lower speeds, irrespective of steering input, and this can cause transmission wind-up which sounds like what you were experiencing. Normal in GGS on high-grip surfaces, and shouldn't do any harm. In normal mode the coupling is released when there is significant steering input so as to avoid wind-up.
