I added the video link, you will get many more hits on your post Thumbs Up

As it shows, there are many pretenders but not many cars can hold their own in Land Rover territory, the LRE sites have these rollers and demonstrate how effective our cars are.

Cheers!

In all seriousness I'd be pretty annoyed if I owned one and saw that video! In fact someone I know has just bought one but I don't think I have the heart to send them that link.

Assuming that video is genuine, then I'd be more than annoyed, I'd be seeking legal advice.

i.e. I bought a 4-wheel drive vehicle that (although 2 wheel driven for most of the time) I could reasonably expect to engage 4 wheel drive in the scenario depicted in the video.

The fact that it does not is both alarming and contrary to how the vehicle is ostensibly described.

Again, if this is genuine and someone has an accident/incident in weather conditions the driver could have reasonably expected the car to cope with in 4 wheel drive mode, then I'd have thought there would be hell to pay.........wouldn't there?

People are more than willing to remind LR owners of failures no matter how unreasonable.

If it was my car I would prefer to know before getting stuck in the middle of nowhere. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

A decade ago a neighbours 4WD was stuck on a steep driveway in wet weather. The driveway was a brick laid surface with a modest amount of moss. The car was slipping sideways towards a wall. I can't remember the make other than it was a 'breadbox' model.

4 blokes to the rescue pushing the car to get enough grip. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

In no way of defending the Honda, but could it not be that it's 4 wheel drive is a different system?
Could it not be that it drives normally in 2WD and when it senses a slip in any of the rear wheels, it then puts power to that slipping wheel?
If it is then the above test wouldn't take that into account as none of the rear wheels are slipping.
As said, not defending it, only questioning it.

??
Don't understand the logic.....why would a drive system send power to a wheel once it's slipping?

In the video, a predominantly FWD car has clearly lost grip at the front and isn't transferring anything to the rear. Just looks like a FWD car! 2011 SD4 HSE Auto

Slipping wheel not being driven, therefore to give it traction. Question

It appears Honda has been plagiarising Leonardo da Vinci Armoured Tank drawings.

The problem is the rear wheels are turning the opposite direction to the front wheels.

What Honda has not realised is that Leonardo da Vinci purposefully made a drivetrain error in the drawings so that if someone built a vehicle using his design they would have problems getting it to move forward.

Honda have done well so that the car does eventually drive out backwards while trying to go forward. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
