TERRAIN RESPONSE FAULT

Had this message flash up on my display with warning triangle displayed on dash and also 6 warning beeps and the light on the terrain response control knob went out.

Happened whilst we were driving around West Midland Safari Park last week in the lion enclosure , luckily the car didn't stop and kept going. Fault disappeared when ignition was switched off then back on again.

Terrain response wasn't in use at the time although we were driving very slowly in 1st gear most of the time.

Has anyone else had this problem before

Did you not put in into safari mode? Do this and iron bars lift up to protect your windows and the wipers become stronger for flicking chimps off the screen. (this only works if you are wearing a pith helmet) At work

Unfortunately there are no chimps there. They were all destroyed many years ago due to a virus so at least the car is intact but some git put a dent in my rear passenger door whilst it was parked there  ______________________

I had the problem when I bought my car. Went back 5/6 times before it was resolved. There is a fault on the sensor on the rear diff that sometimes needs replacing. If that doesnt fix it (which happened on mine) then the whole control box was replaced.

Mine did it too, Seems to be a common fault. The dealer did something - software related I believe and ok so far. 07 Freelander 2 TD4SE Tambora Flame, side steps, privacy glass, mud flaps, boot liner and a tow bar. Ok it's the Wifes but she lets me drive it occasionally - if I've been good!

Yep, I think I'll get it into the dealer to have it looked at.

Whilst reversing into the drive, the reverse sensors were beeping as they do but also had the local radio station coming through even though the stereo was turned off

Hi Dave, just had the same warning in the display going up a steep hill. When I switched off the ignition and started again all seem to be Ok. The problem has not occured again although it only happened a few days ago.

Did your warning light come back on? if so after how long and has the dealer found a problem?

I notice from previous postings that a software update can cure the proble or a change of sensor in the haldex unit have you hade these checked

Ny FL2 is only 4 months old with 5K on the clock hope this is not the start of problems!!

Haven't been to the stealer yet, the fault hasn't come back so won't bother now. ______________________
