Wow! FL2 vs fiesta and FL2 vs Toyota tell you more than any euroncap rating! Thanks for posting. |

I was looking at pictures of a rolled post 2011 FL2 earlier on a breakers site and I have to admit I'm impressed with how well it has kept it's shape |

In July I was involved in a head on collision with a Ford Focus. Police estimated that the combined collision speed was 100 mph. My Freely was written off, but the car probably saved us. The height of the car meant that the bonnet wasn't even bent. Just the front wheel, etc slid underneath us. There's a bit more info in my thread here http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic20730.html

It certainly does. Of course, the Ncap rating is based on two identical vehicles - e.g. a FL2 is 5 star, a D3 is 4 star but that doesn't mean the FL2 would fare better in a crash with a D3. The FL2 absorbed the impact extremely well. The whole body ended up slightly out of shape - the only issue being the rear door which got stuck shut - it opened with a good tug in the end. It is amazing that the horse was OK. He was only just 5 at the time but he was extremely calm about the situation; he loaded quite happily again a couple of days later. It was an amazing result for such a bad accident. Everyone walked straight out of their cars and no one had any major injuries, even the other two drivers. I'm guessing that if I had been in the MX5 & a 40 ton trucker rear ended me, I might not have so lucky! SD4 HSE Lux Orkney Grey,Full size spare tyre,Ugly kid glass. |
