A nice new set of Goodyear Wrangler tyres turned up today, hopefully those will improve the wet handling a bit!

Check the paintwork in the rear wheel wells near the lower door shut there is a small amount of exposed (blue) in your case
The stones hit it and rust can start, I covered mine with some stick on carbon fibre look sheet, only a small amount but it protects the paint and metal work, I did this in my XS and the new one, love the colour of yours.

I had a good poke about the arches as the rubber trim is starting to dissolve in typical Landrover fashion. Most seem to be ok but I did remove quite a bit of mud from under the rubber flap at the bottom of the rear doors!

The underside seems to be in good condition and the front disks and pads look nearly new - so I'm happy

The car is indeed from the Highlands, an older couple from Inverness owned it from new

Well the big boy has developed a bit of a squeak

From the day we got it the handbrake has been more or less useless (last MOT stated that it JUST passed the performance test) so it's going back to the dealer in the next few weeks for a new cable

Until then we've not been using it at all - as we both park in gear anyway it's never been a serious issue

The other day there was a squeaking / squealing noise from the back drivers side area that went away after about 5 mins of driving. I suspected that it may be related to the cable issue so i asked Susan to gently pull the brake on as she was rolling along in 2nd gear on idle. Not much happened until there was a huge squeal followed by another 5 mins of the same noise as before.

The brakes themselves looks fresh so could this be purely cable related? or are the handbrake shoes needing done too?
