Possible indicator issue

Took my wife out earlier this evening to do some shopping, about a 25 miles each way trip and everything working fine until we started the return journey only to find that the nearside indicators would not work. Switched everything off and re started but still the same. Checked the bulbs by switching on the hazard lights which worked fine. Had not got the manual in the car to check fuse locations so drove home. Checked the hand book when we got home to see if there was a split fuse arrangement but could find nothing related to the indicators in any of the three fuse boxes. Went outside switched on the ignition and indicators now working again. Does anyone have any ideas what could have caused the initial problem.

It has been know for the odd glitch to happen, usually when getting in and quickly pressing start, not giving it time to Boot Up so to speak, odd qurks like the Radio not working, no Sat Nav, switching it all off and starting again and it's back to normal.

Thanks for the quick reply however, when I pulled over shortly after finding the problem, I went through a complete switch off, lock up and start procedure a couple of times before finally driving home along a route which gave only 2 left turns. The last one was a bit of an issue as there was another car coming out of the junction I wanted to turn into.
