A Big Thank You

I have been reading this forum for some months now as I was considering a FL2. Same as a few others I had my doubts about reliability, build quality etc, but reading so many of your comments and your obvious enthusiasm I made the jump and took delivery of my 10 month old HSE last week. The thing is I can't stop smiling, is this normal?

Congrats Ron Thumbs Up , but smiling is a bit mild.....If you'd bought a black one you'd be laughing away like a good un. Fl2 ownership does seem to be a very positive experience ...so far. Just make sure your side indicators are not orange ..that's a cardinal sin here Laughing At work

don worry Ron

what you are experiencing is what is called "Perma-grin"

Don't worry the facial muscles will soon adapt and adopt the perma-grin inline with the pressing of the unlock button on the keyfob Thumbs Up

You will have to forgive me but the side indicators are orange. With regards to perma-grin, that's a relief as my muscles are starting to ache, but it's so worth it.

On a serious note I am purchasing side steps, does anyone know if the holes are pre drilled under the car as I am considering fitting myself. Thanks

For the side steps the holes are drilled but you need 'rivnuts' in the holes. these come with the steps but officially you need a rivnut setting tool, It is possible to set a rivnut with 2 normal spanners though, I did mine successfully. Also you have to pull the sill trim off the car too this clicks back on easy enough.

or pay a dealer about £70

They should be the same fixing as the pipes that CG fitted to his, so he could give you some pointers, I have my dealer fix mine Smile

The fitting instructions can be found at www.ownerinfo.landrover.com under accessories

Just as a little pointer, if your planning any off roading the step can get in the way and get damaged or bent Sad Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Your looking at it all wrong perhaps other manufacturers only use 2M tape , and 3M is exclusive quality tape At work
