United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Lago Grey

Seems this was a press event and the Sport's driver was a Sunday Times journalist. Lots of links to that video, but as you say it's been removed. Pressure from Land Rover perhaps...!

To be fair to the Sport (athough I'm not sure why I'd want to be) it does appear to be on rather softer ground than the Defender. Location is claimed in some articles to be a beach, so soft surface.

The conditions show on that clip would challenge most 4 x 4s so can't draw many conclusions. It is somewhat reassuring to read the reports in Top Gear etc that the DS can go off road - but I don't like the new multi link suspension if it is responsible for the lack of ground clearance between the rear wheels - ok grounding there if someone else is paying for the damage and towing home. DS has same as every other car styling to me but each to his own - I think the Ewoke is a tadge ugly so what do I know, but at least it looks different.

Wiz has nailed it on the head things were better back then certainly styling wise! Financially well Embarassed maybe not.

I seen a DS yesterday and it was ugly Shocked first thing that popped into my mind was honestly this:

Tata have turned a struggling brand into one of the global best sellers Thumbs Up but I dont like the aerodynamic LR's they're throwing out. Some say in order to save fuel and become pedestrian friendly its got to be done....... But the new Volvo XC90 has a square slab face and also does the concept Jag CX17 which Jaguar say is more or less what the actual car will look like just a bit why JLR could not have made the DS look a bit more beefed out Whistle MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

I watched the video in question yesterday, and posted my thoughts in this Disco3.co.uk thread, I'm not surprised JLR pulled the vid down, heck the guys boss could have advised it be pulled as the reviewer was uncharasmatic and turned me off the Sunday Times Driving section, which I have been a reader of for 20+ years. I will add that it is useful to get multiple opinions of the vehicle, good and bad, including the impression it gives non-fans of LR.

What happened to the DS in Iceland?

following on from the "Discovery Sport range?" thread that mentions a video that is no longer available, I was curious to know what had happened and found this:
http://www.icelandreview.com/news/2014/12/...ad-iceland
(hope the link works?)
And this http://www.autoevolution.com/news/land-rov...89884.html
(but the video doesn't work)

Seems the video may have been taken down because apparently driving off road is illegal in Iceland?

Link works fine .

I suppose it's difficult to see where the edge of the road is when it's covered in snow Whistle

What a ridiculous article. I don't know what kind of grip he thinks any tyre would have going up a 45° hill on snow and ice!! But I can bet the DS would do it better than rivals.

Must admit, the car looks good in that vid.
Not sure about the cheapo ford mondeo steering wheel though.
