This is why I never set off in those circumstances without a 100% flash of the lights. When I was bringing Finn home from the hospital a fellow started waving and carrying on at me when I didn't accept his flashes as 100% genuine... I did feel a bit daft but what the hey, safety first. At work

Perhaps he was upset that you did not respond to his quick flash? |

My mums friend was driving in Spain, a truck flashed so she set off....In Spain a flash means I'm coming thru...So one squished hire car, luckily no serious injuries (My Mum was in the car too )

I never accept a flash of the lights, after all, on all of mainland Europe a flash of the lights means I am coming through get out of the way, as indeed it does in the UK according to the Highway code |

In Cyprus a tip of the flash means "Go ahead mate, I'm letting you through!"

A flash of the lights in Thetford woods has a whole different meaning, as I found out to my peril on a recent trip to Norfolk!

We don't have a single flash over here. Just a double flash that means "I'll let you pass" but this is manly corellated with the car giving the flashes going very slowly or even being stopped.

A flash of the lights can also mean "I've been driving my other foreign car which has the lights and washers the other was round, and I simply meant to wash my windows...." |
