Heated windscreen : Mine comes on, on its own?

I have noticed that whatever the settings on my climate control - including off, most mornings when I start the car
the front heated screen comes on, yet the light on the switch if off, as is the climate control.

BTW the OS temperature is 10-14 deg c.

So, is this by design and can it be turned off with a CCF edit, or is this a fault.

any advise / info appreciated

I always have to turn mine on with the button for it to work. And I'm pretty sure it doesn't come on automatically. MY13 HSE LUX Aintree Green

From the book...

HEATED SCREENS
Press button to operate the required screen
heater. The screen heater(s) will operate for a
predetermined timed period before
automatically switching off.
The screen heaters will be automatically
switched on if defrost mode is activated or if
the external air temperature is low.

From what you are describing with the outside temp, looks probably like a fault. I have never noticed mine coming on automatically.

It seems if it is cold enough it will switch on automatically.

I noticed that mines started coming on automatically over the past few days and also thought I had a fault until read this thread.

Goes to show how you learn something new every day, especially on this site.

Not exactly life or death, I could live with it till next service, especially if a visit to the dealer is so time wasting.
