Put the card in the blackvue, power it up and then press and hold the button next to the power lead, about 15 seconds or so it will bleep, let go and it will say "formatting the SD card" let it finish and do not power it down until it has come back on. Do this weekly and it will keep the card in good shape |

How do you do this? Is this on the unit or when the SD card is in the laptop? If it is on the unit then I have tried several times just playing with the button on there for it just to say - wifi on or off or on the otherside it is touch sensor for voice recording on or off! I can't find any other options on the unit (assuming they are there). (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red. (Past) RR Evoque Dynamic Lux Si4 In Firenze Red. The non video files you see listed contain gps trip information. The recordings are not continuous, they get divided up into lots of files but you can alter the size. If you use windows explorer to navigate to the SD Cards Directory BlackVue\Application\Viewer for Windows\ and run the BlackVue.exe you will get a screen up that allows you to play the videos and change the settings of the camera.

I prefer the files a minute long, else when you want to view them you end up having to edit so much out, sods law says the bit you want is at 4 minutes in.

One tip with the blackvue I have is when inserting or removing the sd card from the device is cover the side of your seat with some cloth or something first, many times I have dropped the fiddly little card putting it in and luckily it always landed on the centre console and stayed there. But one time it bounced and despite watching its exact path down the side of the seat and despite moving the seat in all directions, I have never seen it since. I think its now languishing on the chassis somewhere.
