I would imagine that the last models off the line may well have fulfilled lease company orders as they could get away with minor spec 'anomalies' if there was any supply issue.

Don't forget that the Freelander will live on and be built for many years in Pune, India so its only the last UK built model not the last one.

Since Indian models will be rhd, I suppose there is the option of importing one for those who really hate the DS? Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

I hope they place it next to the 'first off the production line' Tambora Flame (orange) - it would be nice to see how the FL2 has changed in its life cycle Thumbs Up Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black

As much as I loved the FL2 I wouldn't change my X3 for one now - it certainly opened my eyes as to how out of date the FL2 was - most manufacturers have moved on in leaps and bounds but the poor old FL2 seemed to receive the 'make do' approach. (probably in readiness for the DS).

Okay so I might not be moving when / if the snow arrives but I can work from home and I have legs that can get me to a shop so there! The rear heated seats are quite useful as well.... Whistle

Why, are your arms that long or is the X3's seat that close to the wheel Whistle

Keeping the chips warm on the way home maybe? Can't think of anything else heated rear seats would be good for!

My hatred of the BMW X-Range is several reasons :-

1) BMW owned Land Rover, so had access to the four wheel technology and then still produced absolute Censored cars for anything other than dry Tarmac

2) Like Audi, they produced their 4x4's to try to handle like Sports cars. Making the ride Censored and pointless. BMW and Audi claim that you can't have off road capability and good driving dynamics. Also if I wanted a car that handled like a sports car, I'd buy such car and not an SUV.

Maybe they should watch the Range Rover Sport SVR go round the Nurgurgring out gunning the X5M and many actual sports cars at the same time, then afterwards watching the SVR doing extreme off roading. So yes you can have both.

3) Land Rover's, even the FL2 still have the admiring glances from the public. When a X BMW goes by, people say, look an X3, sorry X5, sorry X11, oh Censored , they all look the same with boring styling.

The only thing the BMW X Range has going for it, is the interior fit and finish, economy and technology which LR is rapidly catching up on!

Have I missed anything? I know the word hatred sounds harsh, but I just loath everything about them. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........
