Any one know is 16 inch wheels would fit / clear the calipars etc
Looking at getting a spare set of wheels with mud tyres

This is the original 16" wheel fitted to early Freelander 2 models, lots on eBay

Any idea what size tyres where fitted
I was thinking tyres and steel rims package , just for the mud

If your Freelander 2 has an Electronic Parking Brake you can't fit 16 inch wheels. If it has a traditional handbrake then you can.

OP has on 08 model, way before the electronic park brake by about four years.

Yes they are, can always collect for you, might need a few couriers to get them down but not impossible

I was thinking off mud tyres , I have general grabbers already
I think steel rims with tyres on just for off-roading is what I need
I just wanted to know if 16 inch rims would foul on anything

Had 16's on mine for winter wheels. Tyres were 235x70x16

We had a couple of "S" Freelanders with 16" wheels and whenever I went for tyres I was told that the size I had was for Transit Vans and had I got the size correct? Looks like when Ford owned JLR they put van tyres on the bottom of the range cars.
