Fuel problem?? Possibly !?

My 2007 FL2 has a very intermittent, juddering type fault, which I think is coming from a fuel / engine problem?

It's done it 3 times, over the last 2 months, twice this week, so am starting to believe it could be shouting a bit louder and would rather get it sorted before it abandons me at the side of the road somewhere . .

It seems to be triggered when cruising in high gear, at low revs and feels like the whole car is juddering. It doesn't do it for the whole journey, but will do it whether clutch is up or down and whatever speed we are going.

The other thing that may or may not be related, is when turning the engine off with it's stop button, it doesn't sound such a "clean" shut off, as it seemed to have, it now sounds like the engine falls over, rather than being cleanly stopped. Sorry not a very technical explanation, I'm no mechanic, but am wondering if anyone might have any clues or better ways of explaining what the above problem might be that I could go to the Mechanic with - thanks

The shut-off issue might point to the throttle body, but it could be a number of things. Best thing would be to take it to a mechanic who has the equipment to read the fault codes and see if there's anything stored - if there is it should point you in the right direction.
