You might struggle to get in before Christmas especially if you want a weekend booking. The Centre nearest me is fully booked at weekends until January.

Personally I'd be looking at going as soon as possible when it is wet and muddy.

Eastnor yesterday was extremely wet and muddy but then some of their tracks are wet and muddy in August too.

Still puzzled what message LRE are trying to get across with the freebie that came with the end of day certificate. A small screw capped aluminium cylinder with a key ring attachment which at first I thought was a usefull small light, but actually just contained a pair of ear plugs. Why ear plugs?

Then you can't hear the diff whine when it goes, new tactic Laughing

Strange gift indeed though Confused
Did the FL2 cope well enough?

Spent most of my day driving this (if you wonder why it's almost clean, we came back via a long deep water course - it cuts down on the cleaning)

but had an hour or so in FL2 to explore the current systems, mainly on Eastnor's new artificial course, plus the rare treat of trying to get up a pristine very long wet grass hill with no track - the slipperiest surface of all.
FL2 on road tyres will certainly out perform Defender on MTs here.

Consiston LRE have some good grass slopes, Freelander really does shine on them, the terrain response is certainly doing it work, they also have a slope fitted with steel rollers, very impressive to see the FL2 pull itself off them, the revs need to hit the magical figure of around 1800 rpm or it just sits there.
That will catch a few out this winter if we get snow, if your stuck, don't give up, get the revs up slowly to the 1800 point and the diff will start to work its magic.

Be Aware

The LRE's are likely to be loosing their Freelanders early next year as the new disco starts to be rolled out.

Think it's more than likely, I would not be surprised to find them at the LRE's this month.

LRE's are due to keep Freelander 2 until April 2015 and should be getting at least one Discovery Sport sometime in January 2015. All dates subject to change as usual.

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Just back from my LRE half day at Coniston. Really, really enjoyed it. I learnt a lot, the main thing is that I am likely to bottle it before the FL2 gets stuck. What was funny was the bird that flew/hung near/on the wing mirror whilst we were doing the hill descents and climbs.

Just had a reminder email saying that I haven't used my 1/2 day experience yet . I'm not home just now, but I thought the that it was a full day.
If it's just a 1/2 day I don't think I will bother using it , a 2hr drive to get to my experience Center. Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!
