Came back to my Freelander today and found the near side mirror smashed.

As you can see in the photo a small bit of casting that makes the top turn is broken off.

The bit of metal is next to the shattered mirror and the hole is near my finger.
Any case I can't see how to split the unit down further to see if it can be repaired. Any clues or hints?

As it's an HSE the spec is powerfold, puddle light and memory.
Replacement parts to the right spec seem to be as rare as hen's teeth on the 'bay, so I was wondering if a part from the later FL2 also fitted to the Disco and RR Sport might be compatible?

Also if you see anybody who looks like a Freelander assailant driving round Leicestershire ..........
