The Head Unit is the same, the DAB unit is an add on, but, you will need aerial amplifiers etc, lot of work involved, still not sure if any one has actually managed to do it.

Five components make up the the DAB system, that's not including the Radio Head, two of them are Antennas.

I had one of these in my previous Ford C-Max and was more than happy with it.

You had better check that you can get a good DAB signal in your area, I had a loan car with it and had to turn it off eventually as unlike analogue FM it doesn't degrade with failing signal strength it just breaks up. It's a bit like the adverts for 4G phones when outside of major urban areas you can't even get 3G and you are even lucky to get 2.5G (GPRS) in a lot of places . |

Incidentally I was wondering if stations like ClassicFM will be rebranded as ClassicCOFDM (coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing ) when we all go digital ? Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue does it? |

Hi I have DAB radio in my freelander, but I bought a pure highway DAB for my van it work brilliantly. Cost about £35. you tune your FM radio to the pure DAB, it great. I love listening radio 5 live |
