You shouldn't need to remove the bumper.

The OP does not state what make of tow bar he has,on a Landrover tow bar bracket you do. |

Can't see why as the mounting points are going to be in the same place (which are all accessible without taking the bumper off). |

As I remember the n/s bracket fits right under the bumper held on by two studs/nuts if you can do it without removing the bumper which if a landrover towbar will also need a cut out you are doing very well! |

Only takes 20 minutes to whip the bumper off, soooo much easier |

To get to that bracket you remove the near side reflector and drill a hole behind it as per the instructions linked and hay presto you can tighten/undo the bracket. |

if an original bar still does not help with the cut out if the bumper not removed,as said 20min job. |

Nah you don't, fitted two and you can either as I did on the first one get your hand up to remove the two nuts behind the reflector (very difficult and time consuming and a few grazed knuckles) but can be done with a ratchet spanner, or when I fitted mine I popped the reflector off and drilled two holes behind it then put a socket on the nut from underneath and slotted the ratchet extension through the hole, simples |
