eBay Spot - Woodgas Camping Stove NEW & Boxed | |
Afternoon all,
Little bargain spot really. Might not appeal to all as I know most have tin tents/camping gaz style arrangements. But....just thought these were ideal, mine will be for camping.
Its basically a stainless version of the 'tin can' woodgas stove that are all over YouTube. To explain, a quote from the Coleman website;
"The Woodgas Stove is basically a double-walled chimney. A fire is lit in a basket just above the base, which draws air in through the vents around the bottom: similar to a traditional brazier. The big difference is the double walls and a second set of vent holes which open out into the top of the chimney, just below where your pan or mug will sit. The air within the steel walls gets very hot, shooting up and out of the upper vent holes, causing the gas released from the burning wood to combust fiercely and heat your kettle.
This all results in a very hot, clean burn, producing less soot, smoke and carbon monoxide than traditional fires. As the fuel is wood that you pick up while you're out and about, it's pretty much free to run. Because of the cunning way the vents are designed to recycle the heat from the fire, you get even more out of your fuel: even better value than free!"
If you are still awake, heres a YouTube video of it being run for 1.5 hours on one 'charge' of wood pellet cat litter (un-scented & unused before anyone says it!) as well as it being able to run on just about anything you can find.
So pretty versatile, useful if camping etc is your thing! Now, the price, they range from £35 to £50 for some reason, however, as per usual, I've found a bargain @ £22 delivered.
