I have the nudge bar fitted so it's easy to duct tape a piece of ground sheet across the intercooler air intake.
The adhesive comes off easily enough, but I might be less inclined if I was sticking to paintwork.

It's a lot easier than taking the front off, bumper off, intercooler out and flushing/soaking for hours. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

I need to clean out my inter cooler too+ the rad etc.
I put a hose pipe on the inter cooler to clean it out , not to good but noticeably better mpg up to 35mpg on a long run now
The front bumper protector you got does it offer much protection/strength

The front bumper protector was standard on the G4 - so came with the car.
To be honest, it works well if you rub up against something, such as ice in a lake, or stubborn teenagers.
In a crash it would offer little protection, then again it wouldn't damage a pedestrian either.

Hosing the intercooler is only moderately successful, soaking overnight in detergent cleans the mud out, petrol cleans out the oil deposit on the turbo side well, but please ventilate the petrol fumes away properly Shocked Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner
