Alex
The ingenuity of the human race to invent with limited resources is infinite, however, with the passage of time and the abundance of "plug n go" western convenience lifestyles that once instinctive self help spirit of "seek and ye shall overcome" diminishes with every new branch opening of a McDonalds and 24/7 TV.

Societies and their populations become obese, body and mind congealed in the fat of excess. It is a know truth that the rate of invention accelerates existentially with the rate of hardship, deprivation, or war.

I know and fully understand the reason for your presence here on this thread - long may it be so Thumbs Up

My original post is focused upon installing the new Heated Steering Wheel to an older pre MY12 FL2.
Trust all is clearer now.

Yep, got it now thanks Thumbs Up
Was never really interested in the heated part.
I just wanted leather, as my hands slip on the non leather.
So when a newer model leather wheel came up for grabs (that happened to be heated) I thought that would be the best solution.
Will contact Colin and ask about FL2 PCBs, but reckon these would be pretty expensive just to have a leather rim.
Thumbs Up FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

Ducadim, glad to see you here and glad that you add your input to the forum.

And I am a little proud that eastern cultures are a little more technical inclined than the others and solve any problem that came across.
Maybe the harsh conditions and needs made us to handle almost anything that comes in our way with very little at hand and a lot of ingenuity.
Or maybe the words "Learn, Learn, Learn" that were told from childhood to each of us had an effect... Very Happy

PS:
athelstan, please excuse my off topic, but I couldn't help it... Embarassed

OFF. Thanks, Alex, glad to see you! You are right in many respects Thumbs Up Small addition: "Try, Try, Try" Smile

Scotland 2014 Freelander 2 TD4_e Dynamic Manual Fuji White

£185 was the best money I've ever spent till date speccing a heated wheel when ordering the Freelander. Athelstan how much did this approximately cost and was it parts only or parts and fitting ? It would be nice for forum members on here to have a price in mind before attempting this project. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Austria

Hi,

Just introduced myself to this Forum (see General Chapter).
Bought myself a MY 2012 without heated steering wheel, but I really want to upgrade to heated steering wheel. Reading all the posts about this I'm still confused. The actual steering wheel is not of the latest design but could it be done to upgrade to the latest design, since it is a MY 2012?
And if yes, what do I need to do so? What I understand that, besides the wheel, I need a new PCB (L+R)? The clock spring can be modified?

Many thanks for any clarifications! Bow down Bow down Bow down

This is the actual steering wheel of my MY2012
