Have you ever heard the sickening sound of your plastic fuel tanks hitting something solid? and then realising you have to continue, because the vehicle (non LR) is stuck.

What the man said - I ended up with with my tank hitting the ground during one of the sections on my 2nd or 3rd Green Road runs. Looked underneath to check as best I could at the event but I was well wary until I could check the extent of the damage. I fitted both the Mantec Sump & Tank guards before I did any more events. |

Do you have any pics of the fitting kit, i had a guard of ebay the other day but no fitting kit was included and £68 sounds a bit steep |

I think that the Mantec parts were designed very early in the fl2 life. I’d fitted the later bibs to the front of my car 2007 and had to take them off again to fit the sump guard. |

The sump guards fit MY07 to MY12 (don't know if one was produced for MY13 onwards)

In Jan 2018 I installed a genuine Mantec front protection plate. Picked this up second hand, although it is a '317' (model to fit later FL2) I went into the work shop and converted it to a '316' (earlier model FL2) plate. Drilled a few holes made packing spacers, job done. [in fact this plate will now fit ALL model years of FL2s]
