Scotland 2014 Freelander 2 TD4_e Dynamic Manual Fuji White
Intermittent Stop/Start

Noticed over the last week that stop start seems to work every second day and the external temperature is approx 10 degrees! I do a lot of town driving and today I took the car on a 60 mile drive which consisted of a dual carriage and country road. By the time I got home and into town the vehicle still didn't shut down I'm guessing if my battery was low this run would have been enough to recharge the battery Whistle

Last week I had the same issue and after a 20 mile drive the vehicle did shut down when in town. I was hoping this would have been the same case today sadly not Big Cry

Any helpful advice appreciated MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

I discussed this issue once with a guy from LR Assist and he said that there are numerous criteria governing when the stop start doesn't operate. He said that he had seen a chart with over a dozen criteria. It goes primarily on the measured battery voltage but is also affected by things like
is the air con switched on (this can have a big effect)
what position is the fan set to
lights
external temperature
wipers going
etc

It does seem like they have a mind of their own sometimes but I definitely find if the AC is on it rarely shuts down and if the fans are more than half or set to somewhat warm is decreases the chances of it stopping a fair amount.
