Nest -- Any one had one?

Read this on Disco3, anyone had any issues with their FL2? I had a weekend away and needed to top the washer bottle up and found a nest of grass but I think that was a small bird as I witnessed it fly up into the engine

This is what the little blighter was after,

It had a go the previous night and I put some tape round it along with something nasty for it to chew on Smile it had made a nest under the bonnet insulation and was probably hopeing to spend the winter there.

I used to have a D3 and lived in a more rural location and one winter a little critter crawled inside a wheel arch and chewed through a cable that forms a loom to sensors on each wheel. The end result was the car stuck in access height mode, unable to adjust it and advised not to drive it and the best part of £500 to fix. We then found it or another blighter had crawled under the bonnet of my wife's Mondeo and chewed throught several cables.

The guy next to where I work had a big three axle motor home, bought brand new on a whim, only used it once, went to Paris in for ten days, then parked it up for six months, went to sell it the mice had shredded most of the insulation on the bulkhead and bonnet and most of the engine harness.

On my previous FL I was checking an oil leak onto the starter motor every few days and one day discovered a small pile of seeds there. Thinking it may be a rodent, I set a small mouse trap with peanut butter and tied it to the coolant hose nearby. Checked before going to bed the same night and found a very dead mouse! Problem never happened again, unsurprisingly. 2016 BMW X3 30d SE in red

Had a whiff in our office a few years ago - was worse every time we used the photocopier. Started to strip it down and a mouse ran out. I screamed like a big girl. Embarassed Then I wondered why a live mouse would smell so stripped it down further. I found a fried mouse wrapped in a perfect square around a part on the circuit board! Must have been a family member paying their last respects that ran out.
