United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Zermatt Silver
Follow me home lights?

Hi! My wife noticed a message on the dash when arriving home yesterday., saying "follow me home lights". I think this refers to the interior lights which turn on once the car ignition is turned off but we have never noticed the message before.

Any ideas or thoughts if this does refer to the interior lighting or what the message refers to.

All help appreciated.

Many thanks,

I thought it was the dipped beam headlights that come on when you unlock the car in the dark.

Hi! Thanks. Our low dipped beam doesn't come on when we leave the car. I presumed it required programming by the dealer but now wondering if it is possible through the menus.

From memory, when you stop and turn off the engine, pull the headlight flasher once and it will turn on the lights for a period of time and they will go out automatically, around 30 seconds or so.
I found it by accident when I pulled the stalk getting out.

If my wife ever sells my stuff for what I told her I paid for it, there will be some bargains out there!

My lights stay on when I switch the engine off, I don't have to do anything. A message comes up on the dash saying something about headlamp delay? Very Happy

You can also toggle the lights on and off with the headlight button on fob when the car is locked. Handy when coming back to it in a car park at night etc. * GONE. GS TD4 Manual MY2013. Orkney Grey with privacy, cold and clearview packs, armrests (a must!) and a spoiler.

I think it's one of those things like the dipping mirrors that you can switch on and off via vehicle setup screen. Could be wrong though as I haven't tried it. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone

FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.
