i was going to but the bloke I bought it off worked for LR and he had the garage do an independent health check instead - I was happy with that as he was a sound bloke and the car is a gem! |

With that mileage and age in mind it may well be worthwhile looking at a LR dealer for a car, it will have it's health check and a dealer warranty, this itself is very good warranty.

I bought something similar last year (2011 XS with 21k on the clock) and opted for a Land Rover dealer for a bit of extra peace of mind (although at that point still had best part of a year of LR warranty so slightly different situation).

I personally wouldn't buy another 11 or 12 reg until LR find a fix for the hesitation problems. 11 reg bought in the facelift version with the reduced emissions and lower tax. Numerous differences in the engine from previous. I was told last week by my local dealer that they have 3 customer cars with this issue and LandRover don't know how to fix them. Ours was fine for a few months, luckily it's under extended warranty so keeps going back.

Does it affect manual and autos? |

Don't know if it affects autos, our is manual. We have had 08, 10 and 60 reg manuals and none had the problem. The affected engines are the ones without the "organ pipes" on the air inlet pipes and tax at £180/year instead of £220. |
