Could be two separate faults, AM loss could be the Radio.

The Antenna on the roof has nothing to do with the AM side.

Thanks again. It's looking like the IAM for the AM radio then. For the GPS signal problem I've noticed within the discs there is a plain white disc, I'm wondering whether the previous owner has tried to update the maps with an unofficial copy and it's caused a problem with GPS signal. The proper landrover disc is in the drive now but maybe the damage has already been done. If this is the case maybe a just need to reboot the whole nav system with the correct disc. I just need to find out how to do this. |

I've been off here for sometime still trying to sort out the problem of the red line through the GPS signal and the AM radio not working. I ended up taking the car to landrover to get some 'expert' advise and hopefully they could route cause the problems. Well they were pretty useless and wanted to rip the headliner out to check the harnesses. The cost for this would have been £550 without the guarantee of fixing the problem. Not being happy with that I took the car back to a local garage which has landrover support, having discussed it with them they reckoned it wasn't the harness and for the GPS problem it was more likely to be a problem with the sat nav DVD player under the drivers seat. Landrover charge £2000 for a new one of these!!! I managed to source a 2nd hand one for £240 inc vat from ACD landrover breakers in Lancashire and it takes about 5 minutes to fit. All fitted today and sat nav now back up and running, RESULT
