Headlights coming on when indicating

I have noticed a couple of times that the green headlamp warning light comes on when I indicate. I don't know if it just the warning light or if the headlights themselves are on. The first time it went off by itself after a few hundred yards. Today I just flicked the indicator again and it went off, not sure if that was a coincidence.

Before I go to the dealer to be told that it isn't a known problem, has anyone else had this? I have the headlight switch set to OFF so that just the DRLs are on. GONE - '07 TD4 GS manual Zermatt Silver

I had something similar. When I had the wipers on the right indicator would flash and sometimes the rear wiper would go even when switched off. The garage replaced a pcb behind the steering wheel. This cured the problem for a while but now very occasionally it's happening again. Freelander 2 HSE TD4 2007

Called the dealer yesterday. "Not heard of that before sir, you'll need to book it in". I said I would wait to see if I could determine when it happens more accurately.

Well, it happened this morning when I unlocked the car and opened the door. 'Headlamp on' warning bonging, 'headlamp on' light on in speedo and warning message on in Info Center. Headamp switch at Off so checked outside - just signature strip lit. So it's back to the dealer. GONE - '07 TD4 GS manual Zermatt Silver

Took it to the dealer this morning who said it's probably the column switch so they have ordered a new one. The fault hasn't reoccurred since I booked it in last week. GONE - '07 TD4 GS manual Zermatt Silver

It is booked in to get the switch assembly changed tomorrow. When the problem occurred at the weekend switching the light to the first position and then off made no difference, it just went off by itself after a while.

Last night the right indicator didn't come on immediately but fortunately no one was behind me. Definitely sounds like something is loose in there. GONE - '07 TD4 GS manual Zermatt Silver
