I'm pretty sure that I have seen this covered a couple of years ago, but damned if I can find the original thread via search.

What are these hooks in the boot for? There is one either side, and they simply twist to unscrew/remove. Is it anything to do with the dog guard, or something totally separate?

Just to hook shopping bags and the like onto, I believe, to keep them upright.

Not sure of the correct usage but my 3 sided dog tarp is designed to use them to help hold the sides up.

Hold the bag from the local Indian takeaway a treat, drive home sharpish to keep it warm and don't loose any

No good for holding milk though

The D2 has a large hook in the passenger footwell designed for takeaways

I find them ideal for hanging up the dog whistle - means I've always got one to hand when I'm out with him.

I've heard on here they aren't very robust,a take away is about all i would trust to them a proper bag of shopping with tins etc and i wouldn't use them.

This is the D2 takeaway/shopping hook I mentioned earlier (google photo) It is still plastic and more stronger than the panel trim clips.

SYFL2 is correct - they are not very strong!

The white bit securing the hook to the frame breaks which is why I ordered another 2 from Dan at Duckworths yesterday ! FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green

The D2 bit was always known as "The curry hook" I fitted one to my D1, it was secured by a self tapper from behind and a locating peg so very secure - even for milk. MY14 TD4 manual XS Orkney grey.

On the Jag X-Type, there was a hinged hook incorporated in the glove box handle. It was described as a ladies handbag hook. It was great for takeaway bags though, a chap on the jaguarforum (from over the pond) used it to hang his girlfriends undies on while they where 'having fun'! 2010MY 2.2 e4 (gone but, not forgotten)
