Phone pairs to Bluetooth and downloads phonebook but doesn't respond to voice dialling. can anyone just say the voice tag and get the unit to dial. That's the whole point of Bluetooth, not just incoming calls. My £30 parrot minikit does it all. I use it in my 97 300tdi.

I never managed it ... I don't think the unit can do it. It is stadard on later models so i have used my £30 parrot
although I don't make a lot of calls.

Mines a 63 plate and I can make phone calls via voice command linked to my iPhone 6 - I find I need to speak very clearly as the system doesn't otherwise always recognise Significant Others name. I wonder sometimes if i should change her name in my phonebook to George or something similar, something that the voice command should recognise every time
Initially I wasn't following the voice commands, just asking the system to call the name I wanted. The commands need to be followed precisely.

doesn't work on pre MY13 models fitted with the Alpine brand head units. Only with the newer Meridian head units in the final facelift versions.
