Don't think it can be tightened. Guessing here, has it been hit? May need resetting, pull or push it forward as far as you can, should hear and feel it click, then reposition the mirror.

If it is loose backwards and forwards then I would say it's been knocked off its setting.

No it's not loose that way it just rocks straight up and down a little ( vertically ) where it pivots to the main housing ??
If I could find a way of getting the mirror back off I reckon I could sort it ,,,,,, he says

As yours is newer than 2010, you should be able to remove the top half of the cover.

Dobba,

Did you ever fix the up and down movement? Before I take mine apart it would be useful to know what you found. Don't really want to spend hours at the dealers getting them to sort it if it is an easy fix.

If it moves up and down it would make me think it's had a kick.

Just had a look inside mine. The up and down movement was caused by a loose fitting between an alloy block and the pivot mechanism. They are held together by a black machine screw with a torx head. I tightened up the screw a bit and hey presto no more movement. Once you get the cover off it is very straighforward and is obvious what needs tightening. Glad I did not undertake a long trip to solve that one. Hope that saves someone a trip to the dealers Razz FL2 Metropolis, Loire Blue, ebony/ivory

Just follow the youtube vid posted a couple of replies above. Basically put a flat bladed screwdriver (I used a trim pry tool) or suchlike between the bottom inside corner (near where it pivots) and twist, the bottom of the top cover pings out, get fingers under the edge and it pops off. To put back just align top edge and snap bottom edge back in. FL2 Metropolis, Loire Blue, ebony/ivory

Sorry can't help then, I assumed a 2011 would have the split case. I guess my next port of call would be a breakers to see if I could find a broken one to examine. Or ask at a dealers if yours is friendly. FL2 Metropolis, Loire Blue, ebony/ivory
