Not an impressive game from an England point of view.
Gone are the days of 'it's a case of how many' in a game like this.
Rupert Murdoch and the English FA over the years have clouded the real issue in pursuit of money.
Just glad I'm old enough to remember a decent England squad good enough to win the World Cup.
I doubt the likes of it will never be seen again Big Cry Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

That's the England Camp.

They haven't got a cat in hell's chance of winning any international tournament.

That's odd. I'm English.
I've never called England ''they''.
I use the word ''we''.

Or am I reading between the lines incorrectly? Whistle Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Yes I suppose it is odd looking in from the "outside" but let me explain.

I'm English.
I've always referred to the England football team as "they" as I do not feel a close relationship or belong to "them" or their sport. I'm not an avid follower or supporter of football at any level local, amateur, professional or the national English football team. However the match that took place here in Switzerland (the birthplace of my dear lady) did attract my attention due to the reports in the press here of what the Swiss sports' journalists referred to as the dismal failure of their national team under their new(ish) manager.

Conversely, I do however actively follow the games of rugby and cricket both at local and national level.

Back home the Derby rugby club soldiers on in the minor leagues and when back in my home I attend their matches. I am also a longstanding member of Derbyshire County Cricket since the '70's attending their matches regularly where and when I am able. I have also introduced my dear lady and our daughter to attending both these sports in Derbyshire. Beyond the two Derbyshire based teams I also follow the English national squads closely in the same manner and as a family we have watched those squads playing internationally at Lords and Twickenham. Sadly her Ladyship expresses no further interest in either game, but to my great delight my daughter continues to enjoy watching cricket - time to get her playing the game. These longstanding and very close associations to cricket and rugby therefore have led me to refer these teams both amateur and professional, local and national as "we".
