Mine has 10 positions that can be uploaded, I have some discs full of MP3's but havn't tried one yet! that option may give much larger storage.

I haven't tried uploading CDs onto the car's hard drive - I use a 16Gb mini USB stick (one of those tiny ones where the plug is the biggest bit) and put music onto it using folders for each artist/album - you can get loads on in MP3 format and the touchscreen enables you to navigate/browse through them. When you want to add another bit of music, you whip out the USB and just stick it on. Simples. 2016 BMW X3 30d SE in red

Great minds winslet Whistle . I got the wife's old USB stick and but a few albums on it . It's easy to navigate albums and tracks . I'm going to buy a mini 32g USB stick so that I can have my full record collection in the car . I have put a couple of cd's onto the cars hard drive but it takes so long , about 20 mins for each cd . Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

I'd like to think it would play them in track order (often MP3 files are ripped from a CD with the track number then the title?) but I think it plays them in the order they were written to the USB stick, and sometimes I think when programs such as Windows write a number of files, it does them in an odd order which it then plays them in. I tend to copy them across from the files on the PC, sometimes a folder at a time and it does this.

So, neither really, I find. Not the first MP3 player I have found that behaves this way. 2016 BMW X3 30d SE in red
